An Introduction .......
Ladakh is also called “the Small Tibet” and derives it name from “La-dags’ which means high passes. It is located at an average of 11,550 feet above sea level, one of the highest inhabited regions in the world. It is famous for it stunning landscape and clear atmosphere. The Ladakhi people are charming and peace loving.
Although some private schools in Ladakh are comparatively good but only few parents can afford to enroll their children in these schools, and access to these schools is limited as they are confined to Leh.
The immediate aim of the Lamstan Model Public school Leh is to enroll children in private schools by providing the following:

Our Goal
The goals of Lamstan Model Public School are as follows:
1.To provide educational opportunities
to students from the poorest families
and to orphans and students from
remote areas, selected by members
of the Society according to their
ability and poverty.
2. To provide training facilities for
learning wood-carving, carpentry,
painting, tailoring, etc. for students
with handicaps.
3.To prepare students to become participants of the world while preserving traditional and moral codes of conduct and beliefs.
4.To provide an education in the languages of Ladakhi, Tibetan, Urdu and English.

This school has been opened with the focus to maintain and cultivate the vision of tomorrow for the next generation.
We specially aim to bring the children of middle class, poor families and orphan children shoulder to shoulder to take positive steps forward in any field they wish to pursue.
Our class started with only five students in October 2004. Today we have over 30 students and we have rented some rooms in Disket-Tsal, Housing Colony, Leh.
We are esteeming to build a school and a hostel facility for children from outlying areas of Ladakh.
As we are a self – founded, Government approved school our expansion at present relies on the support of individuals such as you.

We will assist you to keep track of the student you have sponsored, sending photos and reports.
13000 rps will help pay for the ongoing costs of a student for a year, providing books and teacher support.
15000 rps will totally cover all expenses for one student for a year.
